Alex is wonderful! The movement for social & ecological healing needs somatic practitioners like Alex!!" |
Alex is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner and Awareness Through Movement® Teacher, graduating in 2019 from a 4-year Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in New York City with David Zemach-Bersin, Sheryl Field, Anastazi Siotas, et al. Alex has been teaching Awareness Through Movement® since 2017 and maintains a private practice.
With a background as a classical musician, Alex specializes in working with musicians and has taught Feldenkrais® workshops for musicians at Brevard Music Center Summer Institute & Festival; University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance; Indiana University Jacobs School of Music; and more. Alex holds Master of Music & Bachelor of Music degrees in Bassoon Performance and has published on Feldenkrais® in the International Double Reed Journal, as well as in her master's thesis. As a queer, autistic-ADHDer, Alex especially enjoys working with other neurodivergent, sensitive, gifted, queer, and disabled folks through a liberatory, neurodiversity, disability justice paradigm. Alex feels most at home barefoot in the forest, is a lifelong learner and voracious reader, and loves to sing, dance, and move. |
I'm deeply grateful to have experienced both large group and private lessons led by Alex. As a group facilitator, Alex brings an inspiring level of clarity, curiosity, inclusivity and invitation. With skill and humility, she holds compassionate space for all bodies. One-on-one Alex made me feel comfortable to share vulnerably about my body's conditions and my own inquiries. I was able to relax on a profound level and gained new perspectives about my body and personal story. Alex is overflowing with cultivated gifts, and she applies those gifts skillfully to serve whoever she is working with - I can't wait to work with her again." - Kasey, Experimental Performer, Community Organizer, and Activist

"When touching I seek nothing from the person I touch; I only feel what the touched person needs... whether [they] know it or not, and what I can do at that moment to make the person feel better." |
